Marine electronics are essential for fishermen and other mariners, but getting a chance to see what’s new on the market isn’t so easy for islanders.

So it will be a relief to some that Echomaster Marine are bringing their skipper expo to Stornoway next week, with a range of demonstrations on market-leading equipment.

Andrew Masson of the company’s sales team said: “We understand that it can be difficult for some of our rural customers to attend the expo's... so we're packing up the van and heading out to the County Hotel in Stornoway”.

Andrew will be joined by his colleague Arlene Hardacre from Echomaster and Struan Eaglesham from Watt Marine.

They’ll be at the County between Wednesday 15th and Friday 17th of January to talk about the newest developments in marine electronics. Mariners can find out all about technology such as autopilots, chartplotters, on-board safety equipment and radars. Products will be on display and there’ll be demonstrations of equipment from SIMRAD, Olex, Hondex, Lowrance, Xinuo and many more.

The expo will be open on Wednesday from 4pm  till 9pm, Thursday 9am – 9pm and Friday 9am until 12 noon. Attendees will get a free goodie bag and access to exclusive special offers. Find out more by phone on 01261 831644 or visit https://www.facebook.com/echomastermarine
