‘Tweedo’ swimming trunks were in evidence at Bosta beach yesterday (Wednesday January 1st) as a small but determined group braved the waves for the first open water swim of the New Year.

Hebridean Sea Swimmers joined Lewis Pugh (United Nations Patron of the Oceans) on his latest training swim alongside training partner Max Holloway, Scottish outdoor swimmer Calum Maclean and a number of others who just couldn’t stay out of the water.

Minch swimmer Colin Macleod said afterwards: “That’s the way we do it in the Western Isles! Wind and waves a-biting on the Tweedos.”
