Another truckload of gifts and aid was packed by Blythswood for the people of Moldova last night (Friday August 30th) in Stornoway.
Blythswood works with Biserica Sfanta Treime (Holy Trinity Church) in Nisporeni, and Vulcanesti Church, Moldova, to help the community in and around Nisporeni and Ungheni.
Speaking after the truck was finally loaded after several hours work, Charlie Nicolson thanked a whole range of local companies and organisations – Angus Maciver Ltd; Grillburger; Stornoway Painters and Decorators; Nomie’s Bodyshop; RMK Insurance; D.R. Macleod Ltd; MacRitchie Highland Haulage; TIG, On-Time Computer Services; Alasdair Macrae and staff; Lews Castle College UHI; Breedon Hebrides; Gordon Diesels Ltd; Stornoway Rugby Club, Lewis and Harris Rangers Supporters Club; Stornoway Fires and Rescue Service; Hebrides Alpha; Stornoway Waste Aware; CnES Technical Services; Lodge Fortrose; CIB Services; Stornoway Police; Cala Hotels; County Hotel; and various church organisations as well as the volunteers who helped with the collection and loading. Not forgetting the community of Lewis and Harris who gave to the Appeal.
