Two men in a small boat found themselves drifting in Broad Bay without engine power yesterday afternoon (Tuesday 20th August).
Stornoway Coastguard operations centre received a call saying the men were in difficulty off Portnaguran at 3.27pm, and tasked Stornoway RNLI Lifeboat and Stornoway Coastguard Rescue Team to attend.
The CRT team were first on scene and, having established the exact location, gave details to the RNLI team, who headed to the scene and took the casualty vessel in tow.
It was towed to Portnaguran harbour, where the two men were given safety advice by the Coastguard team. With all ashore safe and well, teams were stood down at 6.58pm.
