Two men were charged with theft yesterday (Thursday August 2nd) after they broke the trust of farmers selling their own produce.

Stornoway police had a report on Tuesday (August 1st) that money had been stolen from an honesty box at the gate of Macaulay Farm, at the junction of the Arnish Road near Stornoway.

After police investigations, a man aged 43 and another aged 34 were arrested, charged with the theft and have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.   

Macaulay Farm hosts free-range hens, pigs and rare breed sheep.
