BBC Alba programmes in March take viewers throughout Lewis and Harris looking at the work of vets and the demands of DIY.

Vets: Gach Creutair Beò (Ep 3/12)

This series takes viewers on a journey across Scotland following vets as they tend to animals from small to large to very wild - with stories of joy and stories of sadness meeting all creatures great and small.
In this episode vet Kay Falconer has been called out to see cattle at both ends of Lewis and Harris. Crofter Angus MacKay from Scaristavore in Harris has bought new Aberdeen Angus stock that need testing whilst crofter and journalist Murray Macleod from Ness in Lewis wants to find out if his cattle are in calf.

DIY le Donnie (Ep 5/6)

Donnie 'Dotaman' Macleod is at the Bethesda Nursing Home and Hospice in Stornoway where a DIY job awaits. The staff want him to renovate a nurses' workstation which has is no longer used and create a linen cupboard.

Donnie quickly gets to work, removing the cupboards, worktop and the electrics in the alcove before designing and fitting a linen cupboard with roller doors which will aid the work of the nursing staff. This episode also looks at how the house build in Craobh Haven is progressing.
