With over £45,000 raised for community projects and more than £17,000 handed out in prize money, it’s a 1st year worth celebrating for the Western Isles Lifestyle Lottery (WILL).

And celebrate they will with a jam packed weekend of Disney themed events in Stornoway on August 24th and 25th.

A number of organisations and businesses have partnered with the Lottery Team to host events. 

A spokesperson for WILL said: “We are so pleased with the success of the local Lottery in its first year and we hope everyone will come out and join us in the celebrations next weekend.

Friday night will see a Disney-themed quiz night in the Cabarfeidh Hotel hosted by and raising funds for Alzheimer Scotland - Western Isles.

A Teddy Bear’s Picnic will take place in the Bridge Centre at 10:30am run by Laxdale Playgroup and An Lanntair are showing Alice in Wonderland also at 10:30am.

Sammy’s Princess and Super Hero Parlour on Church Street will run from 9am with pics by Sandie from 9-12 noon.

The main parade of mascots leaves Bayhead Park at 12.30pm heading for the town centre.

Artizan will have Disney themed surprises and special Happy food boxes will be available in the Lido.

Princess/Pirate workshops will be held in Stornoway Town Hall from 12:30pm with Kirstie Anderson, Eva Grace Fisher and Claire Wilson.

There will also be stalls and facepainting in the town hall from 1-5pm and the Mascots will be dropping in for some photos.

Pointers will host a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party at 1:30pm and there will also be activities in Perceval Square including Boogie Bounce. Gordy’s Seafari will be running Pirate Trips from 1:30pm.

If you’ve any energy left, An Lanntair will finish off the day with a showing of Disney classic Mary Poppins at 4:30pm and for the grown ups there will be a Disney themed cheese night in Era Nightclub from 10pm.

Anybody with a UK Postcode can join the Western Isles Lottery. Most Supporters have joined via the Western Isles Lottery website www.westernisleslottery.co.uk with Direct Debit payments.
