Carloway Football Club were saddened on Friday (August 24th) at news of the death of one of their most devoted supporters.

And they have taken the opportunity of mourning his passing to also pay tribute to another hardy follower who passed away earlier this year.

They posted today (Sunday August 26th): “Carloway Football Club were saddened to hear of the passing on Friday of one of our loyal supporters, John "Scoddy" Maciver from Uig .

“We will remember John for his cheerful disposition and as a supporter who followed the team on our trips to Uist and our Highland Amateur Cup trips to the mainland. We would like to offer John's family our deepest and most sincere condolences at this sad time.

“His presence at our fixtures this year has been missed by everyone connected with the Club, as has that of the late Kenny John Macaulay, Knock Carloway who died in January of this year and whose loyal support we inadvertently failed to acknowledge at the time of his death.”
