The Castlebay to Oban ferry sailing was being delayed today (Tuesday 9 April.)

CalMac reported that debris had been found in the vicinity of the ferry's propellers, resulting in the 07:55 sailing being disrupted.

Meanwhile there is a road warning for those travelling on Monday 22nd April to Friday 26th April.

BEAR Scotland, acting on behalf of Transport Scotland, are proposing to carry out essential carriageway maintenance works on the A85 through Lochawe village. These works are programmed for construction between Monday 22nd April and Friday 26th April 2019 under a night-time closure.

The work will be carried out each night between the hours of 7pm and 7am.

The A85 will be closed in both directions at Lochawe during these resurfacing works. A signed diversion route will be in place via the A828 and A82 trunk roads.

This diversion will be subject to a height restriction of 4.2 m at Connel Bridge.

Vehicles in excess of this restriction are advised to plan an alternative route during the period of the works.

Alternatively, all vehicles will be held at the work site until they are able to pass through during amnesty periods ( 8pm, 9pm, 10pmj, 12am, 2am, 4am, and 6am)

Emergency services will be able to pass at all times.

The diversion route will add 30 miles or approximately 40 minutes to the road journey between Connel and Tyndrum
