The opening of the Hebridean Celtic Festival shop on Monday 24th June signals an acceleration of activity, with the festival itself just three weeks away.

The festival shop will once again be sited on Francis Street, at the former Gazette shop and right opposite the door of one of the main festival venues, An Lanntair.

Festival director Caroline Maclennan told welovestornoway.com that the annual plea for early collection of tickets was going out to island festival-goers, to dodge the queues that build up from the minute visitors begin to arrive in the islands.

The shop is also the place to get an early purchase of festival merchandise, which this year includes not just t-shirts and hoodies but a new shell jacket branded with the HebCelt logo. Re-usable metal water bottles and Americano cups will help keep the festival green, allowing everyone to carry hot and cold drinks, and there are three locally-made candles to light at home.

Caroline said: “These have been specially created for us by Sandwick Bay Candles. They come in three fragrances – Harbour Breeze, HebCelt Heather and Castle Green – and every time you light one it will remind you of the great time you had at the festiva!”

The HebCelt shop opens on Monday June 24th and will be open from 10am Monday to Saturday, and for extra hours during festival week (July 17th to 20th).
