Two rugby teams are set to battle it out on Saturday (November 24th) in a friendly game with serious intent.

Stornoway Ladies will cross the Minch to meet Craig Dunain Ladies at Bught Park in Inverness for a bruising battle in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The women have named themselves Hislander Girls in a tribute to their shared Highland and Island identity, and have set themselves a joint fundraising target of £1,000.

So far, £220 has already been raised through their set Cancer Research fundraising page at https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/page/jesss-giving-page-111?fbclid=IwAR2glJfJKrqj4_IoCX9lqZa5VJZjxQNJCgO-RkpdLV-4nWEpf8fgvjN7688

In their appeal for support they say: “We are working together to raise funds for Cancer Research UK which is doing tremendous work in the fight against Cancer.

"We would like to raise as much money as possible for this tremendous charity. If you can spare anything, however small to help the cause, we would be very grateful.”

Saturday’s match kicks off at Bught Park at 1pm and anyone spending the long weekend in Inverness is invited to go along to cheer the teams on, helping to make the afternoon both profitable and memorable.
